In this humanist love story, a history of mankind is told by the angels among us who witness our lives, hear our inner thoughts, and observe, but never intervene with the course of events. Among the mortals we meet Peter Falk(in a wonderful performance as himself) and a beautiful trapeze artist. When one of the angels, Damiel, falls in love, he enters the mortal realm. Filmed during the 1980’s, the cityscape of Berlin is set against a haunting soundtrack featuring Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and Crime and the City Solution
Caitlin is one of Metro Cinema’s House Managers. She also works at a gallery and as a gardener. Wings of Desire is one of the first films she recalls that motivated her to study painting in art school. With a short animation to music by The Olm, a violin and viola drone duo.
Animation & Music at 6:30PM. Film at 7PM.
